Analytics Engineer

Summary

Join Fender Musical Instruments Corporation's fully remote Data and Analytics team in Mexico as an Analytics Engineer. You will play a key role in transforming FMIC into a data-driven organization by developing and maintaining data products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct technical research, and resolve data management issues. You will also promote data best practices and educate others to foster a data-driven culture. This position requires a BA/BS degree in a quantitative field and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
• 1 to 3 years of experience in root cause analysis of data and processes to solve business challenges and identify improvement opportunities
• Ability to work independently as a Data SME (Subject Matter Expert)
• Strong communication skills to explain technical issues, convey requirements, and address questions for non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including relational and dimensional models, keys, constraints, and best practices for normalization and indexing
• Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust documentation and best practices while enforcing data quality standards and governance processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design data assets, integrate analytics solutions, and ensure scalability and maintainability
• Conduct technical research and data profiling to recommend innovative, value-driven solutions
• Query and assemble large, complex datasets from diverse data sources to meet business requirements
• Proactively identify and resolve data management issues to enhance quality, compliance, and scalability
• Promote data best practices and provide education to foster a data-driven culture across the organization
• Additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience documenting source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and modeling documentation
• Familiarity with Agile project environments
• Proficiency in tools like DBT, Alteryx, Amplitude, Segment, and Tableau
• Ability to query, build, and optimize “big data” pipelines and datasets
• Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, and schema design
• Functional knowledge of financial systems and processes
• Understanding of data governance, quality, metadata management, middleware, and privacy concepts
