Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience working with APM tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Elastic
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, including web servers, application servers, databases, and caching layers
  • Experience with containerised environments and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and SSL
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop monitoring dashboards and alerts to provide real-time visibility into application performance metrics, including response time, throughput, error rates, and resource utilisation
  • Analyse APM data to identify performance bottlenecks, root causes of issues, and opportunities for optimisation
  • Work closely with SRE and infrastructure teams to ensure proper configuration and deployment of APM agents and collectors
  • Organise incident response activities to diagnose and resolve performance-related issues in a timely manner
  • Conduct performance testing and analysis to assess the impact of changes and upgrades on application performance
  • Resolve support requests using the in-house applications, 3rd parties and following any required escalation procedures
  • Document APM best practices, procedures, and guidelines for the organisation
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in application performance monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting
