Remote Apparel Designer

Summary

The job is for an outdoor & active designer at Huckberry. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in men's apparel design, specifically in men's activewear. They are expected to drive product strategy, manage the creation process, collaborate with various teams, and lead market research. The role is based in Austin, TX or remotely, with relocation support provided for remote hires.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in men’s apparel design
• Men’s active experience required
• Well versed in activewear fabrics and trims
• Experience in crafting the design vision for multiple categories and brands
• Ability to work in a fast pace, collaborative environment
• Illustrator/Photoshop/ PLM skills required
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit

Responsibilities

• Drive the strategy and direction for our current active brands and any future potential brands in conjunction with Brand manager and merchandising
• Manage the product creation process from color & concept to sketch review, to TP creation of our current active brands Wellen and Proof
• Continue to push and innovate the product offering through best in class fabrics and trims
• Drive day to day needs with the development & production team to ensure design vision is executed while hitting key milestones and KPI’s
• Lead weekly fittings with tech design to ensure fit and quality standards are met
• Collaborate with PLM and merchandising team to create a best-in-class assortment that resonates with our customer with support from data and market trends
• Lead the company in market, product, fabric, and trend research
• Work closely with Director of Product Development & Production to ensure all major calendar milestones are met
