Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration with a focus on SAP environments
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA, Oracle, or other relevant databases
  • Experience with database backup/recovery tools, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Solid understanding of SAP Basis administration
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux and Windows
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Manage SAP databases (HANA, Oracle, or others) including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management
  • Monitor and tune the performance of SAP databases, applications, and queries to meet SLAs and optimize resource utilization
  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures. Ensure data integrity and availability in the event of failure or disaster
  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures, including access control and encryption, to protect sensitive SAP data
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex database-related issues within SAP applications in a timely manner
  • Work closely with SAP Basis, development, and infrastructure teams to support database requirements for application development and maintenance
  • Develop scripts and automation to streamline database management tasks, including performance monitoring, tuning, and maintenance activities
  • Monitor database growth and plan for future scalability needs. Provide recommendations on hardware, storage, and system improvements
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all database environments, configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Ensure databases comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, including GDPR, SOX, and HIPAA
