Application Engineer

Summary

Join Altium as an Enterprise Field Applications Engineer (FAE) and become a key technical expert supporting enterprise-level customers. You will work closely with sales, product teams, and customers to provide technical guidance, product demonstrations, and tailored solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of PCB design, electronic engineering, and enterprise software deployment. Responsibilities include serving as a trusted technical advisor, providing in-depth product demonstrations and training, collaborating with the sales team, working with product management and R&D, troubleshooting technical challenges, developing technical content, and engaging with customer engineering teams. You will need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, 5+ years of experience in PCB design or a related field, proficiency with Altium Designer, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language (German, French, Spanish, Italian)
• 5+ years of experience in PCB design, EDA software, or a related technical field
• Deep knowledge of PCB design tools and methodologies
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and enterprise-level EDA solutions
• Understanding of PLM, ERP, and data management integration
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business value
• Customer-centric mindset with a proactive approach to solving challenges
• Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with sales, product, and engineering teams
• Experience working with enterprise customers in an FAE or similar role
• Familiarity with cloud-based design collaboration tools

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers, guiding them on best practices for utilizing Altium’s software solutions
• Provide in-depth product demonstrations, training, and technical support to customers to ensure successful adoption
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Sales team to identify customer needs, define solutions, and drive revenue growth
• Work with Product Management and R&D to relay customer feedback, feature requests, and industry trends
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to PCB design, data management, and software implementation
• Develop and present technical content, including webinars and workshops
• Engage with customer engineering teams to optimize workflows and ensure seamless integration of Altium solutions into their design environment
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of scripting and automation in EDA workflows is a plus
