Summary

Join Eurofins Scientific as an Application Support Engineer and become a key member of our team. You will support internal IT application users globally, ensuring application uptime and responding to requests for cloud and on-premise services. Responsibilities include incident response, handling support requests for eESB services, owning small projects, and managing queues. You will participate in a 24x5 weekly rotation and contribute to process improvements. This is a Level 2 support role requiring deep technical expertise. Experience with Azure, AWS, and cloud development is a plus.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years experience in Application Support
  • ITIL framework knowledge
  • Strong in Unix/Linux, Java fundamentals
  • Working experience with Cloud (preferably Microsoft Azure)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and perform in a small team
  • Mandatory experience with message oriented Middleware like Active MQ or MSMQ
  • Knowledge of DevOps framework
  • Performance monitoring on SolarWinds. Reporting tools, Service Now, Grafana reporting
  • Knowledge on Version control tools like GIT Hub
  • Shell scripting
  • BE / MCA, or any other equivalent degree in Computer Science

Responsibilities

  • Support internal IT application users with application uptime and requests for cloud and on-premise application services
  • Respond to incidents and handle support requests for a variety of technologies related to eESB (Eurofins Enterprise Service Bus) services over cloud architecture
  • Execute on improvements and automation identified by you or others on the team
  • Own small projects within your respective area
  • Be responsible for the general health of the queue (resolving tickets, identifying trends, finding the technical cause of problems)
  • Recommend and implement process/system changes to eliminate incoming workload, optimizing team process
  • Diagnose problems to the root cause and resolve them, escalating where appropriate
  • Participate in a team 24x5 weekly rotation
  • Handle extended off-shift time as needed, generally associated with project work where maintenance windows need to be observed
