Summary
Join PicnicHealth, a leading health technology company, as their experienced Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will be a key leader in scaling the accounting function during a pivotal growth phase. This hands-on role requires managing day-to-day operations while building systems, processes, and controls for the future. You will transform the accounting function from reactive to proactive, creating systems and insights for faster, smarter business decisions. Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a required mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and private industry experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA license is a firm requirement
- Deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP and ASC 606, particularly as it applies to SaaS and technology companies
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and leading external audit processes
- Proven experience scaling accounting processes and systems in a high-growth startup environment
- Experience working directly with C-level executives and presenting financial information
Responsibilities
- Own the entire accounting function, including AR/AP, payroll, general ledger management, treasury, and tax
- Ensure the timely and accurate close of our books and deliver financial statements that the leadership team can trust implicitly
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment to mitigate financial risks
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, leading a seamless and efficient annual audit process
- Master our revenue streams and own the end-to-end ASC 606 compliance process for our contracts
- Partner with Sales and Legal to provide guidance on contract structure
- Proactively identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, leveraging technology and AI tools to automate manual workflows, improve data accuracy, and prepare the company's financial infrastructure for its next stage of growth
- Serve as a key partner to the business
- Collaborate with FP&A on cash flow forecasting
- Work closely with Sales and RevOps on deal desk support, commission structures, and billing
- Lead, mentor, and develop our dedicated accounting team
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sales compensation plan structures and equity administration (e.g., Carta) is a plus
- Experience with multi-entity business structures
