Requirements

  • Strong background in economics and sophisticated understanding of the energy industry with a focus on regulation and regulatory policy, particularly the cost of capital and capital structure
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, but open to other relevant areas such as Math, Economics or related fields with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and 4+ years of professional experience in the field

Responsibilities

  • Work in a growth-oriented team environment to help clients address their financial and regulatory issues including capital structure and cost of capital
  • Provide expert analysis and support the development of testimony in regulatory proceedings and disputes
  • Frame problem-solving approaches, project management, supervising the project team, developing client relationships, and building personal expertise in new areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated potential and enthusiasm to develop new expertise areas, develop professionally, and help identify innovative solutions for our clients
  • Pre or postgraduate work experience in a related field
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytic, quantitative, and practical problem-solving skills such as econometrics, statistics, programming, modeling, or applied mathematics
  • Flexibility to use a variety of conceptual frameworks and analytical tools from across different disciplines
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • An entrepreneurial drive
  • Strong relationship and team-building skills
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated record of outstanding academic and/or practical accomplishment such as publications in academic journals

  • Competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance
  • The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $142,000 - $191,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training
