Summary

The job is for an ESG Consultant at Riveron who will collect ESG data, perform climate risk assessments, create deliverables, manage client disclosure, and research ESG trends. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree or equivalent experience, knowledge in sustainability, strong analytical skills, and self-led research abilities.

Requirements

  • JD, MBA or BA in Economics, Finance, Sustainability, Human Capital, Human Resources, Sustainable Accounting or related fields or equivalent years of industry experience
  • 1+ years of experience with consulting, project management, client services, writing, and communications (associate level based on experience)
  • Knowledgeable in sustainability with ability to flex across ESG topic areas such as climate, health and safety, DEI, and governance
  • Experience conducting business analysis and data-driven decision making

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in collecting ESG data, calculating GHG emissions, performing climate risk assessments, and setting emissions reduction targets
  • Lead and facilitate material delivery with clients by preparing appropriate client presentations, guiding discussion, and answering client questions
  • Oversee the creation of a variety of deliverables ranging from project kickoff materials, benchmarking decks, research memorandums, project status updates, and more
  • Anticipate client questions or new client needs before they come in and adapt the project plan and timelines accordingly
  • Manage client ESG disclosure for tracking and reporting ESG performance to various stakeholders
  • Assist with ESG peer benchmarking, data mining, and chart building as part of broader projects and analyses
  • Research, draft, revise, and present corporate policies on Environment and Social key issue areas
  • Research ESG data and disclosure patterns through online platforms and data providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has experience with ESG data and scope 1-3 GHG inventorying. Experience with ESG software and climate risk assessments are a plus
  • Ideal candidate has an understanding of ESG regulations in the US and abroad, including the SEC climate rule, CSRD, among others
  • Certifications in sustainability are a plus
