Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required. Field of study in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Business, or related preferred
- 7-10 years minimum experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Business, or related field required
- 5 years minimum HR Business Partner or similar HR experience required
- SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR required
- Reside in a Rocketship region (California; Tennessee; Texas Washington, DC; Wisconsin)
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends

- Demonstration of employee relations experience and strong working knowledge of HR functions, including but not limited to employment law (familiarity with California preferred), performance management, and compensation/pay practices, performance measures, change management, and labor relations
- Results-oriented problem solver with proven ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and listening and probing for understanding and tailoring communications to varied audiences

Responsibilities
- Collaborate and build strong relationships with organizational stakeholders, including HR Leadership Team, Regional Leaders, and School Leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals
- Oversee school and regional support, including timeliness of follow-up to School and Regional Leaders
- Lead and manage the HR Business Partners, ensuring cohesion and effective performance
- Coach and mentor HRBPs and ER Manager, fostering their professional growth and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
- Build a strong team culture that reflects Rocketship’s core values and prioritizes collaboration, service, and excellence
- Lead cross-functional HR initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of HR policies and practices across teams
- Partner closely with Talent and HR teams to ensure effective collaboration and processes that support strong execution and service for staff members
- Drive and support ongoing projects in partnership with HRLT
- Drive HRBP regular touchpoints with leaders, including People Partnership Meetings (PPM), execution through HRBPs
- Contribute to the development of change management strategies and communication plans
- Lead HRBP team in cross-functional workforce planning (i.e., end-of-year staffing) and succession planning initiatives
- Support the implementation of organizational changes and initiatives; contribute to the development of change management strategies and communication plans
- Guide HRBPs to implement Rocketship’s performance management and progressive discipline frameworks, ensuring they drive strong employee performance, development, and retention
- Work closely with managers to identify areas for growth and provide tools, resources, and training to enhance their leadership capabilities
- Oversee complex employee relations issues, guiding HRBPs in addressing complaints and conducting thorough, objective investigations
- Collaborate with leaders to refine conflict resolution strategies and promote constructive dialogue across teams
- Oversee resolution of employee relations issues, managed by the ER Manager and HRBPs
- Conduct investigations and recommend fair and equitable resolutions
- Approve involuntary terminations, as needed
- Collaborate with Talent and other stakeholders to identify and address talent gaps
- Act as a subject matter expert on employment law, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local labor regulations
- Align HR policies, including the Employee Handbook, with local, state, and federal laws and organizational goals, providing clarity and consistency in their application
- Guide HRBPs in navigating nuanced employee relations scenarios, balancing organizational needs with compliance requirements
- Drive the equitable application of HR policies, leveraging data and diverse perspectives to inform decision-making
- Partner with leaders to develop and refine policies that foster inclusion and address the evolving needs of a diverse workforce
- Support initiatives to embed equity into performance management, discipline, and other core HR processes
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus
