Associate Financial Reporting

Summary

Join MarketAxess financial reporting team as a Financial Reporting Associate, preparing quarterly and annual SEC filings, assisting with review of XBRL tagging, working with internal and external auditors, and supporting the month-end financial close process.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting
• Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with stakeholders across the Finance and Legal departments
• Self-motivated and proactive, with strong attention to detail
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Strong proficiency using MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual SEC (10-Q & 10-K) filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and management’s discussion & analysis
• Assist with review of XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnote disclosures for the quarterly and annual SEC filings
• Work with internal and external auditors to furnish requested information in a timely manner for the quarterly reviews, annual audits and internal controls testing
• Assist in accounting analysis of transactions and in preparation of accounting policy memos
• Keep current with SEC and Financial Accounting Standards Board issues and interpretations, and suggest enhanced disclosures, if applicable
• Prepare annual benefit plan financial statements and footnotes
• Assist the regulatory reporting team with broker-dealer reporting, including monthly FOCUS reporting, quarterly 17H reporting, and semi-annual financial statements and footnotes preparation
• Assist with special projects, as needed, providing answers on a timely basis to a variety of financial and accounting questions
• Support the month-end financial close process by ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and policies and preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for certain areas
