Summary

The job is for an Associate Front-end Engineer at Immersive Labs, a rapidly growing cybersecurity company. The role involves building the user interface of their learning platform and working in a friendly multi-disciplinary agile team. The ideal candidate should have experience with Javascript frameworks, preferably React, and be based in Bristol or within commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Experience in Javascript frameworks, preferably React
  • Integrating a complex frontend codebase into a backend API (ours is built in Ruby / Rails)
  • Demonstrable, and up-to-date knowledge of best practices and patterns when working in a large, scalable frontend codebase, and familiarity with CI setups
  • Understanding of Git, semantic HTML and CSS/SASS, using styled-components
  • Have begun to develop the skills to critically review technical solutions and identify potential performance / design system / security / scalability issues
  • Excellent communication skills, excited and driven to solve challenging problems in a high performing agile culture and an interest in working in a product environment and taking a long term view to development of a platform
  • Have an aptitude for problem solving and a strong desire to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver features on our product

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside others in the team to help deliver on Product and Engineering requirements, being an active participant in our Sprint ceremonies
  • Collaborate with Back-End, Infrastructure, QA and Product Managers within a multi-discipline agile team , working together to ensure we have full confidence in the features we are releasing
  • Strive for continuous improvement in how we work and deliver value to our customers
  • Take a structured approach to your continued learning and professional development
  • Learn and then follow our Agile Ways of Working to deliver work in a coordinated and considerate manner
  • Help ensure our code quality by feeding back on others work via our code review process
