Summary

Join House Rx, a technology-driven specialty pharmacy startup, as our Associate General Counsel. You will play a key role in leading our legal and regulatory efforts, working closely with the executive team. This hands-on position involves managing a wide range of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, including pharmacy compliance, commercial contracts, licensing, and data privacy. You will ensure the company operates within all applicable laws and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a JD, 10+ years of legal experience (with at least 3-5 years in healthcare/pharmacy law), and strong knowledge of HIPAA and relevant regulations. Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 10 years of legal experience, with at least 3–5 years focused on healthcare &/or pharmacy-related law
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on all aspects of our operating model
  • Understand federal and state regulations related to pharmacy or physician dispensing
  • Assist with monitoring and implementing compliance with laws and regulations from relevant agencies, including CMS, DEA, FDA, and state Boards of Pharmacy and Medicine
  • Understand and advise on compliance with payor contracts
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements including service contracts, MSAs, vendor agreements, distribution and payer contracts, and NDAs
  • Support the legal review of new business models, patient support programs, and partnerships to ensure alignment with healthcare laws
  • Advise on data privacy and HIPAA compliance across platforms and services
  • Assist with corporate governance, internal policies, and entity management
  • Support fundraising efforts by reviewing legal documents and conducting diligence
  • Advise on employment, vendor, and contractor matters as needed
  • Help build and manage internal legal and compliance workflows, processes, and documentation
  • Conduct legal research and stay current with evolving healthcare regulations and digital health law
  • Participate in internal training and policy development on compliance and legal best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations, PBMs, and drug distribution models
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with pharmacy operations, product, and clinical teams
  • Highly organized, responsive, and solution-oriented
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
