Summary

The job is for an Associate General Counsel at OKX, a fast-growing global cryptocurrency exchange. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a financial services-related industry or other firmly-regulated space, active membership with either the Law Society of Ireland, a US state bar (CA or NY preferred), and be enthusiastic about blockchain technology.

Requirements

  • Active membership with either the Law Society of Ireland, a US state bar (CA or NY preferred), or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in a financial services-related industry or other firmly-regulated space

Responsibilities

  • Work with the licensing process in specific jurisdictions and work with the other members of the Global Licensing Team to obtain key licenses
  • Manage external counsel
  • Conduct legal research into global laws and regulations applicable to the crypto industry with the assistance of outside counsel
  • Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of the business's regional strategy
  • Draft and revise application materials in collaboration with the Global Licensing Team and other business teams
  • Collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals
  • Assist with civil or regulatory litigation matters and supervise outside counsel as needed
  • Manage additional legal requests from all areas of the business and effectively advise on legal concepts and legal risk with an eye towards the strategic goals of business leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with a global legal team
  • Regulatory experience in the financial services industry
