Summary

Join Tidal Basin HoldCo, LLC as an Associate General Counsel, Corporate Governance and Compliance! Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic leadership on compliance and regulatory matters across various departments. You will oversee compliance risk management, health and safety programs, and confidential reporting systems. Key responsibilities include managing insurance policies, claims, and bonds, as well as developing and implementing compliance and ethics programs. You will also conduct investigations, manage training, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This senior-level role requires a Juris Doctor, relevant experience, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited law school with excellent academic credentials is required
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction within the United States
  • 5 – 7 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years of relevant regulatory compliance (including Federal compliance) and insurance experience is required
  • Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation and/or the Code of Federal Regulations is required
  • Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office/Outlook, industry-related databases
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Strong organizational and quantitative skills, as well as demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage projects independently
  • Ability to focus on multiple deadlines and change as the demands and fast pace requires
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Experience with broad spectrum regulatory issues is a must

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the procurement and management of insurance policies
  • Assess the Company's risk exposure and work with insurance brokers to secure appropriate coverage
  • Responsible for filing and managing insurance claims when necessary
  • Manage COI requests and updates needed for operations
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation insurance and claims in collaboration with Human Resources
  • Work with sureties to obtain bid bonds and/or performance bonds
  • Responsible for development, implementation and ongoing refinement of organization-wide strategies for an effective compliance, ethics and integrity and privacy/security program
  • Manage any investigations of alleged violations of law, policies and procedures in consultation with the Chief Legal Counsel, and/or designated outside legal counsel, and takes appropriate corrective action
  • Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective compliance communication and training program for the organization, subsidiaries and affiliate entities
  • Effectively translates regulatory guidance into streamlined operational and corporate processes to ensure compliance, at times with short notice
  • Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive safety & health programs at a corporate level and for projects
  • Coordinating internal compliance review, risk assessment, monitoring and audit activities, including periodic reviews of departments and projects
  • Designs and implements programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all business units are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Manage PAC & Lobbyist reporting and general compliance
  • Administer and manage State registrations, business licenses, and certifications
  • Manage SAM Registration, updates, modifications and renewals
  • Tracks laws and regulations that affect the organization's policies
  • Perform compliance review of new business opportunities, including requests for proposals
  • Create and present risk assessments and compliance reports to stakeholders and upper management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance or related area of study is preferred, but not required
  • Compliance experience at a national level is preferred
  • Experience in an in-house corporate setting is preferred, but not required
