Associate HR Governance

Summary

Join Oscar, a health insurance company built on a technology platform, as an Associate, Human Resources Governance. This role focuses on developing employee policies, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and supporting geographical expansion efforts. You will collaborate with various departments, including legal counsel, and serve as a subject matter expert for HR Governance. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and is a blended work culture, allowing for remote work with the option to work from the New York City, Tempe, or Los Angeles offices at least two days a week. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years of HR and corporate governance experience, and 1+ years of experience working with remote employees and locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years commensurate experience
• 3+ years of specialist experience conducting HR and corporate governance and compliance
• 1+ years experience working with remote employees and locations
• 1+ years of knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies (i.e. HR compliance, EEOC requirements, OSHA, STD/FMLA, Reasonable Accommodation, FLSA/wage and hour laws) and experience communicating and answering questions regarding company procedures

Responsibilities

• Develop employee policies to meet state/federal regulations and company specific needs
• Partner with departments to build standard operating procedures (SOPs) in application of policies
• Maintain compliance with federal and state employment law regulations
• Maintain the Visa and Immigration program
• Build relationships with leaders at all levels while maintaining objectivity
• Help with other HR projects
• Identify areas to improve innovation and effectiveness
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
