Associate Structural Engineer

Summary

The job is for an entry-level Civil or Structural Engineer or Architect at Valdes Architecture & Engineering Company. The role involves designing various structures and coordinating with other departments. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree, good communication skills, and be familiar with AutoCAD software.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in civil or structural engineering or architecture
• Experience: 0-3 Years of experience working as a civil or structural engineer
• Eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Design shallow foundations
• Design individual pipe supports and pipe rack type structures
• Design basic structural steel access platforms with ladder or stair details
• Develop basic structural connections
• Learn design codes and follow established design criteria
• Have a basic understanding of structural analysis software
• Manage his or her own time to stay within the project allotted budget
• Coordinate engineering details/drafting with department designer staff to develop project design drawings
• Review vendor concrete reinforcement and structural steel shop fabrication drawings
• Learn to develop and review project specifications
• Verify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field construction
• May be required to participate in short or long term field assignments
• All other duties as assigned
