Summary
Join VetsEZ as a remote Automation Tester and contribute to a team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. You will oversee the testing lifecycle for software solutions, leading a team to ensure high-quality software deliverables. The role demands designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using tools like Cypress, Playwright, and JIRA. You will analyze requirements, conduct various testing types, report defects, and collaborate with development teams. Maintaining test automation frameworks and staying updated on testing best practices are also key responsibilities. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in specific tools and languages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required
- Hands-on experience with Cypress, Playwright, JIRA, Jenkins, and version control tools like GitHub
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java or Python, and working knowledge of SQL
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and JIRA
- Analyze requirements and translate them into detailed test cases and testing scenarios
- Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing across production and non-production environments
- Identify, report, and track defects using clear documentation and reproducible steps
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless testing integration and continuous delivery
- Perform manual testing when needed and validate code changes using GitHub workflows
- Maintain and improve test automation frameworks and documentation
- Stay current with emerging testing tools, techniques, and best practices
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies
- Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
