Summary

The role involves delivering Scrum team commitments by creating test plans, cases, and scripts, executing manual and automated tests, supporting automation efforts, reviewing requirements, maintaining regression test suites, recommending preventative and corrective actions, detecting and reporting bugs, preparing test reports, and training junior engineers. The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in QA, 1 year of experience in test automation development, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, excellent problem-solving skills, writing, communication, and analytical skills, familiarity with issue tracking, testing techniques, operating systems, Agile software development life cycle, English fluency, Java or similar programming languages, test automation frameworks, and basic knowledge of database management systems. Familiarity with configuring development environments is also preferred.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience in QA as an analyst or engineer
  • At least 1+ years of experience on test automation development
  • Has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills
  • Has excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Is familiar with issue tracking, testing techniques, and operating systems
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Experience using Java or other similar programming languages
  • Has previous experience in test automation frameworks
  • Has knowledge of at least one database management system
  • Skills configuring development environments (IDEs, Java, Gradle, Git, etc)
  • Has basic knowledge with Git

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Scrum team commitments by creating test plans, cases, and scripts, and their acceptance criteria along with automated and manual testing execution
  • Create and execute automated tests and analyze results
  • Support Automation effort by providing help on development and other tasks related to the project
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Maintain and extend the regression test suite
  • Recommend, implement, and monitor preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved
  • Ensure that user expectations are met during the testing process
  • Detect and report bugs or defects throughout the development process
  • Prepare and present test reports
  • Train, mentor and supervise junior software engineers
  • Prepare test handoff of tested features

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Agile software development life cycle is preferred
