Summary
Join LightFeather's dynamic IT team as an experienced AWS Cloud Systems Engineer! This full-time, remote position involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize cloud performance, and drive automation. The role requires strong AWS experience, scripting skills, and a security-focused mindset. Requirements
- US Citizenship
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret/Top Secret clearance
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and solutions
- Proficiency in designing and managing cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including VPC, DNS, VPN, and load balancers
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or Datadog
- Proficiency in Source Code Management (SCM), including Git and other tools, with a strong understanding of best practices and effective version control of code repositories
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure and scalable AWS cloud solutions, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and other AWS services
- Manage and monitor cloud resources to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
- Automate cloud operations and deployments using CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Ensure compliance with security policies and implement best practices for cloud security, including IAM, VPC configurations, and data encryption
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services
- Collaborate with DevOps, software engineering, and security teams to align cloud solutions with business needs
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure design, configurations, and processes
- Stay updated with the latest AWS services, tools, and trends, recommending improvements as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integrations
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA)
