Azure Data Architect

Summary

The job is for an experienced Azure Data Architect with 10-16 years of experience who can join in 30 days. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing data solutions within Azure, growing the Rackspace data practice in Southeast Asia, and mentoring the data team.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience leading engagements from design to implementation of creative data solutions leveraging the latest in Spark based modern data platforms on public cloud
• At least 2 full lifecycle data platform deployments on Azure using first party services for Data and Analytics
• Extensive experience of Azure foundation and cloud engineering concepts including network, security, cost estimation, common IaaS and PaaS services and monitoring
• Strong Spark, SQL, Data Modeling, Data lakehouse concepts
• Programming / scripting experience using python and scala
• 5+ years' experience architecting solutions for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional sources such as structured, unstructured, and semi-structured using SQL, NoSQL and data pipelines for real-time, streaming, batch and on-demand workloads
• 3+ years' experience with analytics/data management strategy formulation, architectural blueprinting and effort estimation of analytics
• 3+ years working in cloud or multi-server complex environments. Extensive experience with Azure is required
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into an easy-to-understand non-technical language to facilitate, communicate and interact with executives and business stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data solutions on Azure using a range of services like Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Data Lake Store, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB and more
• Help grow the Rackspace data practice in Southeast Asia
• Be the expert in the region and support the delivery of our data projects on Azure
• Present to customers at events and promote our capabilities to Azure
• Mentor and shape the data practice during our growth phase
• Oversee our most strategic accounts, making key delivery decisions, and working closely with technical resources and Engagement/Project Managers to ensure customer success
