Summary
Sparrow is a real silicon-valley funded product company based in Alberta that is looking to hire its first full-time DevOps specialist. The role, referred to as the DevOps Guardian, involves taking over ownership and responsibility for build, release, and environments with the support of the rest of the product team. The person in this role will work closely with the CTO and senior developers, championing DevOps thinking during feature spec'ing process. Key duties include designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring, and supporting significant components of environments in Azure, implementing modern Continuous Delivery processes for releasing software to production, and applying industry best practices across infrastructure and application components.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related
- Azure DevOps Engineer or Azure Developer Associate certification
- 3+ years of Powershell automating systems like SharePoint or other parts of M365
Responsibilities
- Designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring and supporting significant components of our environments in Azure
- Contributing to technical decisions and direction in a collaborative team environment, including architecture, estimation, product planning, user story/requirement creation
- Implementing modern Continuous Delivery processes for releasing software to production
- Applying industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components e.g. security, elasticity, performance
- Introducing/suggesting new processes and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kubernetes and containerization
