Summary

Join Kraken's Crypto team as a fully remote Backend Engineer to integrate Kraken's systems with various cryptocurrencies and blockchains. You will focus on protecting client funds by building systems that communicate with different blockchains for timely transaction processing while ensuring security. This role involves designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability applications, writing scalable and efficient code, optimizing database schemas, and maintaining existing crypto services. The ideal candidate possesses at least 3 years of backend development experience, strong proficiency in Typescript (Node.js) and/or Rust, and a deep understanding of cryptographic concepts. Passion for secure blockchain solutions and a general interest in cryptocurrencies are essential.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of backend development experience
  • Generalist knowledge of layer-1 blockchain development
  • Strong backend development experience, with proficiency in Typescript (Node.js) and/or Rust
  • Deep understanding of cryptographic concepts and scalable application design
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and GNU/Linux environments
  • Proficiency in code versioning tools (Git) and experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Passion for secure, privacy-focused blockchain solutions and a general interest in cryptocurrencies
  • Resilience and adaptability in rapidly evolving technical landscapes

Responsibilities

  • Integrate our existing systems with exciting new blockchains
  • Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, super secure applications and data protection systems
