Backend Crypto Engineer - L1

Summary

Join Kraken's Crypto team to help integrate its systems with various cryptocurrencies and blockchains. The team develops and supports crypto operations, including deposits, withdrawals, and staking, with a focus on protecting client funds. You will build systems that communicate with different blockchains for timely transaction processing while ensuring fund safety and security. This role involves integrating existing systems with new blockchains, designing and implementing secure applications, writing scalable and efficient code, designing database schemas, and maintaining crypto services. The position requires at least 3 years of backend development experience and a deep understanding of cryptographic concepts. Kraken is a fully remote company with a global team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of backend development experience
• Generalist knowledge of layer-1 blockchain development
• Strong backend development experience, with proficiency in Typescript (Node.js) and/or Rust
• Deep understanding of cryptographic concepts and scalable application design
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and GNU/Linux environments
• Proficiency in code versioning tools (Git) and experience with automated testing frameworks
• Passion for secure, privacy-focused blockchain solutions and a general interest in cryptocurrencies
• Resilience and adaptability in rapidly evolving technical landscapes
