Backend Research Engineer in Canada

Summary

Madhive is seeking a Research Engineer with 5 years of experience in product development or R&D to join Mad Labs, Madhive's research and development organization. The Research Engineer will develop solution hypotheses, build and iterate prototypes, report progress, and present successful prototypes to other teams using tools such as Go, SQL, Kubernetes, GPU / SIMD, Distributed Systems, Google Cloud, Spanner, gRPC, Parquet, Arrow, Beam, Spark, Streaming data transforms, and Testing (Bazel).

Requirements

• Experience with product design and development, especially in a fast-paced or startup environment
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, engineering, or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product development or R&D
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to invalidate your own previous hypotheses and develop new stronger hypotheses
• Strong ownership mentality, attention to detail, and ability to multitask

Responsibilities

• Develop solution hypotheses to novel problems in adtech
• Build and iterate prototypes that (in)validate those hypotheses
• Report to management on progress, successes achieved, and learnings from failures
• Present successful prototypes to Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams at Madhive
