Backup Engineer

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
• In-depth knowledge of backup technologies, particularly Veeam
• Proficient knowledge of infrastructure relating to backups
• Familiarity with ITIL Change Management processes
• Strong understanding of RTO and RPO concepts
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
• Technical leadership skills in troubleshooting and ticket resolution
• Enjoys a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with change
• Veeam, VmWare, Microsoft or backup vendor Certifications
• Proficiency in utilizing ConnectWise for time tracking and documentation
• A valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check are required

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Veeam, Azure and other backup technologies
• Oversee the configuration, implementation, and optimization of backup solutions
• Take the lead in resolving backup-related tickets promptly
• Deep dive complex backup issues and providing solutions in accordance with the initiatives set
• Conduct regular bubble and isolation test restores to validate the effectiveness of backup solutions
• Accurately log time entries against tickets using ConnectWise
• Lead efforts to ensure backup solutions align with clients' regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with clients to understand and implement Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
• Consistently live the values and demonstrate professional workplace behaviours that reflect the CT values
