Join Vosyn, a leading Language Synthesis AI firm, as a Bias Mitigation Specialist Intern for a 3-month, 520-hour remote internship (with hybrid options in Toronto). You will play a crucial role in ensuring Vosyn's AI algorithms and datasets are free from bias, collaborating with data scientists and engineers. This internship provides hands-on experience in bias identification, mitigation strategy development, and collaboration with various teams. You will contribute to tool development, testing, and validation of bias mitigation techniques, and provide training on best practices. The role requires a Master's degree in a relevant field and experience in AI/ML development and bias mitigation. Requirements

• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Master’s program enrollment or completion is mandatory
• Experience in AI/ML development, bias mitigation, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with experience in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and fairness metrics
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Deep understanding of algorithmic bias, fairness metrics, and data diversity principles
• Familiarity with industry frameworks and tools for bias detection and mitigation (e.g., AI Fairness 360, SHAP, LIME)
• Passionate about ethical AI and committed to fostering equity and inclusivity in technology
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Analyze Vosyn’s AI algorithms and datasets to identify potential sources of bias and inequity
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified biases, ensuring fairness in AI outcomes
• Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to integrate bias mitigation techniques into AI development workflows
• Contribute to the creation or improvement of tools and methodologies for bias detection and correction
• Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of bias mitigation techniques, refining approaches as needed
• Provide training and resources to internal teams to enhance awareness of bias in AI systems and promote best practices
• Stay updated on the latest research, tools, and regulatory developments in bias mitigation and ethical AI
• Maintain clear documentation of bias mitigation processes and produce reports for internal and external stakeholders
