Requirements

  • Passionate: Inspired by the work of Second Harvest and eager to build on our vision of “No Waste. No Hunger.”
  • Experienced & Qualified: You bring 3–5 years of web development experience, including at least 1 year in Webflow, backed by relevant education or equivalent hands-on expertise
  • Tech-Savvy Web Developer: You thrive in a Webflow environment, expertly building and maintaining dynamic websites with clean, efficient code and thoughtful design
  • Bilingual Communicator: Fluent in English and French, you masterfully translate and localize content, ensuring cultural relevance and brand consistency across languages
  • Detail-Oriented Problem Solver: You spot and fix bugs, optimize site performance and ensure seamless user experiences across devices and browsers
  • Collaborative Team Player: You work closely with Marketing & Communications, integrating technical skills with strategic goals to amplify Second Harvest’s mission online
  • Continuous Improver: You proactively seek opportunities to enhance website functionality, usability and content freshness, managing projects from concept to deployment
  • Culturally Aware: You understand Quebec’s linguistic and cultural nuances, supporting compliance with language laws and elevating user experience for French-speaking audiences

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Webflow website, including design, structure, CMS, pages and forms
  • Regularly update website content in both English and French
  • Build new pages, sections, and interactive elements that align with brand guidelines and campaign objectives
  • Monitor website performance and implement enhancements to improve user experience and functionality
  • Optimize layout and structure for accessibility, mobile/tablet responsiveness, and overall site performance
  • Create and manage reusable components: Build and maintain global symbols/components (headers, footers, CTAs) for consistent design and easier updates across the site
  • Ensure and test proper integration and functionality of analytics and tracking tools (e.g., Google Tag Manager, GA4, Meta Pixel) across the website for accurate data collection and performance reporting
  • Custom code implementation: Comfortably embed custom HTML, CSS or JavaScript when Webflow’s native features fall short — for advanced tracking, embeds or interactivity
  • Implement on-page SEO best practices, including structured content hierarchy, meta tags, alt text, clean URLs and 301 redirects to maintain search visibility
  • Identify and address technical bugs; work with technical team on deeper integrations or troubleshooting (e.g., domain/DNS issues, performance debugging)
  • Ensure all web content is available and accurate in both English and Quebec French, reflecting Second Harvest’s brand tone, messaging and communications style
  • Translate and localize new English content into French, ensuring regional relevance and cultural nuance (not just direct translation)
  • Review and refine existing French content to ensure linguistic accuracy, tone consistency, and adherence to internal style guides
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to uphold bilingual content quality across all digital properties
  • Maintain equivalence of user experience in both language versions of the website — including structure, functionality, and messaging
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on all French content before publishing to ensure it meets brand, tone, and accessibility standards
  • Support compliance with language laws in Quebec (e.g., Bill 96) and relevant AODA/WCAG accessibility standards for French content

Benefits

  • A competitive salary paired with a robust benefits package
  • Professional growth in a role that makes a real difference
  • Flexible work hours and a commitment to work-life balance
  • Four weeks of vacation and three personal days upon starting
  • A comprehensive insurance plan: medical, dental, vision, paramedical, disability and life insurance
  • Employee and family assistance program
  • Reimbursement for training or professional development
