Join Dexterra Group as a Breakfast Cook in a remote camp setting near Thunder Bay, ON. This overnight role requires preparing and serving breakfast to guests, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and adhering to food safety regulations. The position offers a 2-week on/2-week off rotation, all meals and accommodations, and transportation from Thunder Bay. Candidates must have previous high-volume breakfast service experience, a current Food Safe certificate, and the ability to handle physical demands. Requirements
- Previous experience providing a hot breakfast service in high volumes is required
- Current Food Safe certificate is required
- Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
- Be able to handle the following physical demands: Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Climb ladders or stairs
- Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time
- Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
- Perform work with arms at full length
- Work with arms above shoulder height
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast for guests at site
- Ensure consistent quality of standard in overall food preparation as per clients' requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
- Ensure proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitization in the kitchen
- Comply with food safety regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
- Clean, wash and sanitize equipment and overall work areas
- Prepare adequate quantities of the menu choices by following all production quotas set and budget guidelines
- Follow proper storage and rotation of all food supplies
Preferred Qualifications
- Large-scale cooking experience in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong asset
- Red Seal or other certifications is an asset
- Experience in accurately producing weekly inventories
- Experience with producing baked goods (scratch baking and/or pre-fab items) is an asset
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
