Summary

Apollo is Canada's largest digital-first insurance company looking for a Manager, Broker Success to drive incredible broker experiences by providing insurance expertise and relationship-centered service. The role involves working with existing brokers to grow exchange usage, offering education on insurance products, engaging in conversations with merchants, and identifying opportunities to optimize internal processes. The ideal candidate should have minimum 5 years of insurance knowledge and experience in business development, excellent communication skills, a self-starter attitude, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of insurance knowledge in SME and/or Personal Lines
  • Minimum 5 Years experience in business development, priority with past experience with broker business development or broker experience
  • Positive and energetic phone communication skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills
  • Creative and solution-oriented
  • A self-starter with a high level of customer empathy, you know how to listen, and constructively engage with customers
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that takes ownership of their work
  • Highly organized and superior attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Work with existing brokers to grow exchange usage
  • Ensure brokers have a quick response time by staying on top of incoming requests, with same-day review
  • Offer brokers education on insurance product, sales strategy, and market insights
  • Engage in conversations with merchants to identify and resolve issues, and provide coaching/growth opportunities
  • Be a strong advocate for APOLLO brokers, ensuring that opportunities and issues are brought forward to relevant stakeholders
  • Use Intercom for communication, setting targets, admin and management of broker functions
  • Business development to add new users and brokerages
  • Participate in new product launches through broker outreach and leveraging key brokerage contacts to promote internally while working with the Insurance Product Manager to gather valuable feedback
  • Provide support and assistance with the Underwriting team
  • Adhere to a daily schedule that includes a mix of: Phones, incoming live chats, and emails
  • Assist with brokerage audits, ensuring both usage and GWP targets are met and quality of accounts by taking action if necessary
  • Identify opportunities to optimize internal processes and communicate with the development team to create automation solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Underwriting or broking background with technical knowledge of multi-line (package) insurance policy and wordings
  • Understanding of endorsements, exclusions, and their impact on coverage
  • Understanding of workflows of policy journey (submission, triage, quote, policy issuance and billing)
  • Well known in insurance brokerage community, strong LinkedIn presence
  • Insurance course work demonstrating the desire to continue growing and deepening technical insurance fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Intercom, Hubspot, AWS, Google Suite an asset
