Business Analyst

Summary

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a STEM or related field (e.g. computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, econometrics, or computer science)
• Have 4-7 years of experience in business administration, information systems, health sciences, insurance company or healthcare provider billing organization
• Have experience with revenue cycle management, claims, denials, appeals and / or medical insurance billing
• Be motivated, show initiative, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client/customer needs and then delighting the client/customer by exceeding service and quality expectations
• Have the ability to take advanced business analyses and complex projects from concept to completion and make the results accessible and relevant to business users at all levels
• Have experience telling stories with data and proficiency in Power BI
• Possess proficiency in SQL or another data manipulation programming language (e.g. Python, R)
• Have a working knowledge of basic statistical concepts (e.g. regressions, A/B tests, clustering, probability) and how to apply them to practical questions
• Possess an advanced ability to craft analysis into well-written content and apply analytical skills to projects which have had an impact on business strategy and performance
• Have the ability to multi-task as well as manage, communicate and reset priorities amidst competing incoming ad hoc requests with short deadlines
• Maintain a positive attitude, ability to work well under pressure and provide exceptional customer service

Responsibilities

• Support Finance, Billing, Market Access, Product and Marketing teams on projects by preparing ad-hoc analysis and presentations as required
• Perform a wide range of analytics functions in a fast-paced team environment using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and other business intelligence tools
• Analyze Payer contract compliance and trends
• Identify opportunities for process improvements
• Design and execute improvement projects
• Conduct complex data analysis and data interpretation
• Meet established deadlines timely, accurately, and with a sense of urgency
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
• Maintain a current status on Natera training requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess an advanced degree
• Have knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifier selection, and UB revenue codes
• May serve as a mentor or SME, possibly to a small team of individual contributors
• Have broad, tactical and strategic communication and interactions with internal and external parties
