Summary

Join Outliant, a fully-remote digital product development and startup consulting company, as a Business Analyst. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, analyzing complex processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders. This mid-level position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently. You will own resource allocation, maintain capacity planning models, track engineering margins, and proactively identify risks. Excellent communication and financial understanding are essential. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis or a similar role
  • Proven experience in resource management, forecasting, or operations planning
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially for cross-functional collaboration
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts like margin and utilization
  • Experience with tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, JIRA, Trello, or project/resource management platforms
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Responsibilities

  • Own weekly resource allocation and assignment confirmations across teams
  • Maintain and enhance capacity planning and forecasting models
  • Support engineering department margin tracking and provide insights into team performance
  • Proactively identify margin risks and suggest corrective actions
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency
  • Document requirements and processes with clarity and attention to detail
  • Translate business needs into actionable, technical solutions in collaboration with dev teams
  • Use data to evaluate performance and deliver insightful reports that inform decision-making
  • Support project planning, tracking, and execution, ensuring timelines and priorities are met
  • Participate in change management by preparing documentation and training materials
  • Identify and address project risks and issues before they impact outcomes
