Summary

The job is for a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to support the Data and AI Solutions team at Protective. The role involves understanding and translating business needs into technical requirements for data and AI products, working closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring solutions meet customer needs and align with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in a data or AI-focused environment
  • Understanding of data architecture principles and data pipeline processes, including ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Experience working with data warehousing solutions, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools, as well as data governance practices
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, including model development, training, and deployment processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R is a plus
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure devops is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather business requirements from stakeholders
  • Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and requirements to ensure a clear understanding of business needs
  • Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), use cases, and process flow diagrams
  • Develop technical requirement documents (TRDs) in collaboration with product managers and technical teams
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to interpret and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring that business needs are effectively communicated
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate project status, risks, and issues
  • Assist in the design and development of data and AI solutions by providing business context and insights
  • Participate in testing and validation of solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data and AI solutions
  • Monitor and report on the performance and impact of implemented solutions, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Support project planning, monitoring, and reporting to ensure that projects stay on track and meet business objectives
  • Assist in managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
