Business Analyst, Power Trading

Summary

Join Sympower's team as a contractor for approximately 6 months to support the upgrade, advancement, and automation of battery-related processes in Finland's wholesale trading markets. You will translate high-level business requirements into detailed specifications for systems and data flows, aligning with internal teams and IT. Responsibilities include organizing workshops, maintaining an overview of system compatibility, investigating market regulations, serving as a point of contact, assisting with test cases, and aligning with project managers. The role requires in-depth knowledge of wholesale trading processes and experience in various areas such as intraday trading, multi-market optimization, and ETRM systems. Requirements

• Fluent in English; with other European languages beneficial
• 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in energy wholesale trading required
• In-depth knowledge of wholesale trading processes
• Experience as responsible Business Analyst for products that span across the following work processes
• Intraday continuous trading or day-ahead trading
• Multi market optimisation
• Ancillary services (FCR, aFRR, mFRR)
• ETRM system
• Real-time monitoring
• Integrated asset scheduling and steering based on market results
• Dataflows towards markets parties, like nomination / production plan
• Reporting / Invoicing
• Familiarity with market parties like grid operators and energy exchanges
• Skilled in stakeholder management
• Results-driven, with experience taking the lead in a start-up organisation
• Familiar with software engineering and data engineering concepts

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level business requirements into detailed requirements for systems and data flows. The IT teams will use these requirements to develop all functionality
• Align on requirements with internal business teams (eg Trading, Operations, Finance) and the various IT teams: BESS team, Data Analytics and Data ML
• Organise workshops to go in depth through the requirements with business functions and IT teams
• Keep an updated overall view of all functionality to ensure that all systems and data flows are compatible
• Investigate specific market regulations, such as data flows between market parties and the TSO
• Serve as the point of contact, fielding questions from business teams and IT on scope and requirements for this effort
• Assist the business in making test cases
• Align with the project manager and the product teams on planning and progress
