Summary

This role requires strong SQL skills, experience with various databases, and ETL tools. Remote work is permitted from any U.S. location with up to 15% domestic travel. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in data analytics, data science, computer science, or a closely related quantitative field plus 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, data science, computer science, or a closely related quantitative field plus 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • 3 years of experience working with one of the following platforms: Tableau Desktop, Tableau server, Tableau Data Prep, Tableau CRM (Einstein Analytics), Power BI, Looker, ThoughtSpot, or Qlik
  • 3 years of experience designing, developing, and enhancing BI reporting and data analytics solutions
  • 3 years of experience in BI project management, including project planning and scoping
  • 2 years of experience leading and mentoring junior technical project members
  • 2 years of experience with one of the following databases: Amazon AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Amazon S3, Athena, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL, or Denodo Data Virtualization

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Business Intelligence (“BI”) team of BI Engineers, Data Engineers, and Solution Strategists in client engagements, managing and providing guidance to ensure high-quality work
  • Partner with Product Owners and cross functional teams in a collaborative and agile environment
  • Perform routine testing of own and others work to guarantee accurate, complete processes that support business needs
  • Routinely monitor performance, diagnose and implement tuning/optimization and work with team partners on the architecture and supporting data structure to guarantee high-performance, scalable reporting solutions
  • Document data flows and technical designs to ensure compliance with organization, business and security best practices
  • Mentor junior BI analysts assigned to the project and be the BI point of contact with other cross-functional teams
  • Develop dashboard reports in Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, ThoughtSpot, or similar data visualization tools
  • Work with clients to understand business goals, methodology considerations, and timing for analysis and reporting work
  • Communicate with clients to understand data visualization and analytical requirements that support business objectives, and to identify KPIs and the underlying databases and data sources
  • Prepare “wireframes” to gain client agreement before developing the dashboard
  • Present analysis findings and insights to the client organization
  • Work with decisioning platforms and enterprise data in an enterprise data warehouse (“EDW”)/Analytics Sandbox environment
  • Connect to data in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, Amazon Redshift and other similar cloud-based and on-premises databases
  • Conduct data analysis using SQL and other BI tools
  • Write SQL queries to join, extract, and transform data from databases and other data sources so that the data can be used in BI visualization tools
  • Ensure data consistency by running quality checks and build a data mart with relevant data
  • Use ETL tools, such as Alteryx, to extract data
