Summary
Join our Mortgage Business Intelligence & Analytics team as a Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst! This remote position focuses on developing our Power BI reporting environment, creating impactful dashboards and reports that deliver meaningful data to business leaders. You will use data visualization best practices to tell a story with data and derive meaningful insights. The ideal candidate has a strong Power BI background, is detail-oriented, and can infer business needs to develop reporting solutions. Proactive data quality checks and staying current with Power BI features are essential. This role offers opportunities to become a subject matter expert and contribute to a dynamic, fully remote team.
Requirements
- 4+ yearsβ experience in a data or business intelligence focused role
- 3+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI
- 3+ years writing SQL queries for data mining
- Ability to independently understand data through business context, exploration, and logical connections
- Advanced level proficiency with Power BI
- Building efficient semantic models
- Understand/create dynamic measures using DAX
- Power Query for data sourcing/transformation
- Row-level security implementation
- Calculation groups
- Data visualization
- Performance Analyzer
- DAX Studio
- Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL)
- Standard select queries
- Joins across multivariate datasets including multiple keys
- Data normalization
- Window functions and methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Meet with business leaders/users to understand their needs and requirements
- Build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design language
- Migrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic model
- Automate/streamline manual processes
- Update semantic models to support new reporting needs
- Monitor model efficiency and implement changes as needed to optimize performance
- Identify pertinent trends to share with leaders
- Proactively dive head first into data to offer deeper insights into high/low performing KPIs
- Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as needed
- Document report development processes for business contingency purposes
- Maintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationships
- Maintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audience
- Maintain reporting changelog
- Provide backfill support for ongoing team work as needed
