Camp Housekeeper

Summary

Join MATRIX, a national company providing camp services, as an experienced Housekeeper at our MLA Camp in Nunavut's Kitikmeot Region. This role requires a team-oriented individual with attention to detail and excellent time management. You will perform all primary housekeeping responsibilities, reporting to the Camp Manager. Priority will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries. The position starts mid-January 2025 and operates on a 3-weeks-on, 3-weeks-off rotational schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years/seasons working in a remote camp as a Housekeeper
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail
• Ability to work a rotational schedule (3 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 12 hour days)
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, safely
• Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform physical labor
• Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures
• Report all incidents and accidents immediately
• Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times
• Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
• Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and small wares as per the Food Safety Plan
• Wash and replace bed linens as required
• Clean and sanitize Dry Areas
• Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry rooms, washrooms etc
