Join the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) as a Campaign Strategist in the National Political Advocacy Department! This is a 9-month, full-time, remote position focusing on crafting impactful campaigns across legislative, administrative, and electoral avenues. You will contribute to campaign planning, budget management, and execution of various tactics, including voter targeting and media development. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is crucial. Requirements
- Experience with issue advocacy and/or electoral campaigning at the federal, state, or local levels
- Experience with executing campaign plans and tactics
- Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Familiarity working within coalitions
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a busy setting, while maintaining a calm and focused approach
Responsibilities
- Contribute to varied aspects of campaign planning, including helping to develop campaign goals, tactics, and plans to achieve outcomes on specific issues areas
- With the Director of National Campaigns, may contribute to developing and managing campaign budgets
- Engage in legislative or advocacy campaigns, at the direction of Director-level staff
- Utilize a variety of campaign tactics and tools
- At the direction of the Director of National Campaigns, help to employ constituent and/or voter targeting, developing advertisements (TV, radio, print), polling, and developing creative campaign tactics for earned media or other purposes
- Work closely with Organizing Division on implementing plans for relevant campaigns
- With guidance, support the day-to-day activities of the staff working on the campaigns in matrixed structure
- With guidance, work in coordination with other stakeholders, affiliate staff, and national staff, including policy staff within the department
- Participate in on-the-ground meetings, planning, and campaign events in priority jurisdictions, as needed
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible and adjust priorities as necessary in order to adapt to changing external environment
- Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience doing advocacy on both issue campaigns and electoral campaigns
- Experience doing legislative and administrative advocacy
- Experience doing grassroots organizing
- Experience in at least one ACLU issue area
- Comfort with policy, including an ability to efficiently and effectively weave policy objectives into campaign execution
