Join Burkland's Consumer Group as a CFO, supporting venture-backed startups from Seed to Series C. This fully remote role offers variety, from investor presentations to financial modeling. You'll manage the entire finance function for clients, build robust processes, and collaborate with other teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, curious, a strong communicator, and an expert collaborator with a passion for working with startups. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of high-level finance experience are required, with an MBA preferred. • Have a Bachelor’s degree
• Have over 5 years of experience in a high-level Finance role
• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have experience with and a passion for working with rapidly growing startups and their founders
• Have hands-on experience with diverse consumer-based business models
• Have strong finance-based analytical skills
• Have solid working knowledge of systems such as Excel/Google Sheets, Carta, QBO, Zoom, and other video conferencing tools
• Have expertise managing various types of revenue streams, contracts, inventory, logistics and supply chains, outsourced manufacturing etc
• Have knowledge defining cost of goods and applying different revenue recognition standards
• Have a deep understanding of working capital forecasting and alternative sources of working capital and inventory funding
• Have the ability to construct metrics for investors and evaluating operational performance

Responsibilities

• Support startup clients needing high-level finance help
• Work in a fully remote capacity
• Context shift, communicate, prioritize, and evaluate client needs
• Manage the entire finance function for clients
• Build out robust processes and systems for clients
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to author blog posts
• Engage with the Business Development team in closing client business
• Work with the Knowledge Share Lead in creating and delivering knowledge-based presentations with the broader CFO team
• Lead client fundraising efforts – evaluating the size of the round, modeling cap table scenarios/dilution, assisting with pitch deck preparation, facilitating investor introductions, and participating in investor pitches
• Design the Finance function from the ground up. This includes building out team structures, implementing systems, and developing processes
• Drive comprehensive reporting of financial performance, metrics, and KPIs
• Build an operational financial model that is used to manage the business and is updated monthly to track performance
• Seamlessly juggle hard-hitting CFO deliverables while building strong client relationships

Preferred Qualifications

• Have an MBA
• Have experience as a Consumer CFO
• Have expertise with Consumer Marketplace companies
• Be a former Founder or COO
