Summary
Join SOULCHI, a values-driven startup, as its Fractional Chief Financial Officer and play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy and driving its growth. Requirements
- Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within a high-growth startup environment
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Deep understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and profitability analysis
- Demonstrated success in managing investor relations, preparing fundraising materials, and leading capital-raising efforts
- Ability to provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and executive team, contributing to long-term growth and sustainability
- Strong skills in developing and executing financial strategies that align with business objectives
- Proven ability to identify financial risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial data and insights to both internal and external stakeholders (investors, board members, executive team)
- Experience building and leading finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability and financial discipline while promoting professional development
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial situations, identify solutions, and make data-driven decisions that drive growth and operational efficiency
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and other tools used for financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities and limited resources
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the company’s vision, mission, and growth objectives
- Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and executive team to inform business decisions, and drive long-term financial planning
- Lead the preparation of accurate and detailed annual budgets, as well as quarterly and monthly financial forecasts
- Regularly assess financial performance against targets and adjust strategies accordingly
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in compliance with accounting standards
- Ensure transparent financial reporting for both internal stakeholders (executive team) and external stakeholders (investors, board members)
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company’s day-to-day operations run smoothly
- Optimize working capital by overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other short-term financial strategies
- Manage relationships with current and potential investors, keeping them informed of financial performance, business development progress, and key milestones
- Lead the preparation of fundraising materials, including financial projections, investor pitches, and business plans
- Act as a key advisor during fundraising rounds, from pre-seed to Series A, ensuring investor confidence and trust
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure the company adheres to all financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards
- Regularly assess and update the company's risk management framework, including insurance, audits, and financial controls
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial health, profitability, and operational efficiency
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure the company’s progress toward financial goals and communicate performance to the CEO and other executives
- Build and lead the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
- Foster a culture of financial accountability, accuracy, and transparency across the organization
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without sacrificing quality or innovation
- Ensure that resources are allocated effectively, identifying areas for improvement or potential savings across departments
- Negotiate and manage financial relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and partners
- Evaluate the financial viability of potential strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and licensing deals
- Oversee tax planning, compliance, and filings to ensure the company minimizes tax liabilities while remaining in full compliance with applicable regulations
- Develop tax strategies aligned with the company's growth and financial goals
- Manage the company’s banking relationships, capital structure, and investment strategies
- Oversee the management of company funds, ensuring the availability of liquidity while optimizing returns on investments
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement business analytics frameworks
- Leverage financial data to provide actionable insights that drive growth, operational efficiency, and better decision-making across the organization
- Evaluate and implement financial systems, software, and processes that enhance efficiency and streamline financial reporting and operations
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data across the organization
- Develop long-term financial models to support business expansion, sustainability, and potential exit strategies, including IPOs, acquisitions, or other liquidity events
- Align financial planning with the company’s vision for growth and strategic objectives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing financial operations at a startup or early-stage company
- An MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA)
- Experience with seed and Series A funding rounds
- A track record of success in a startup or high-growth environment, understanding the unique challenges and dynamics of scaling a business
