Summary

Join Haven AI, a company transforming the EHS market with AI-driven incident investigation and prevention, as their CTO. You will play a crucial role in developing Haven’s technology strategy and software architecture, leading the building of their prototype and MVP solution. You will define the tech stack and build a dream team of experts. The role involves leading the development of Haven’s AI-powered safety co-pilot, architecting a system for multimodal data processing, building and managing a high-caliber engineering team, driving integrations with partner platforms, and implementing foundational AI tools. You will also architect and lead the build of an enterprise-grade, SOC-2 compliant product. Haven AI offers a remote-first culture, budget for team recruitment, and access to AI Fund resources.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a founder or early-stage technical leader at a VC-backed B2B or enterprise applications startup
• Proven success building and shipping software products from scratch
• Strong grounding in front-end and back-end development; comfortable navigating architecture, devops, and infrastructure decisions
• Deep familiarity with ML pipelines, LLMs, vector databases, agentic workflows, and AI integration workflows. Hands-on experience a requirement
• Experience designing for scale, API integration, and performance in enterprise settings
• Comfortable designing secure, accessible, and auditable data pipelines across structured and unstructured inputs
• Comfortable engaging with enterprise clients, translating user pain points into technical priorities
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, recruit, and grow engineering talent

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Haven’s AI-powered safety co-pilot from prototype through MVP and beyond
• Architect a system capable of multimodal data processing—including documents, voice, images, and video—to build a proprietary dataset that improves with every incident
• Build and manage a high-caliber team of engineers and data scientists to deliver time-sensitive milestones
• Drive integrations with partner platforms and APIs to accelerate adoption and create ecosystem value
• Evaluate and implement foundational AI tools (e.g., Claude, GPT-4, AWS Bedrock) to support Haven’s evolving use cases
• Architect and lead the build of an enterprise-grade, SOC-2 compliant product
• Provide visionary leadership and strategy for the engineering team; Establish and drive strategic technology goals and objectives
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning—proven success in a remote environment
• Work closely with all teams to ensure alignment between business and technological goals
• Being comfortable presenting to the board, addressing the entire company, and engaging in discussions with high-value potential customer prospects
• Ready to dive deep, encompassing a hands-on, get-it-done mentality for whatever is needed, regardless of the job role
• Be a full-time coach for your team to develop talent and create opportunities for staff
• Mentor other departments, such as customer service and implementation, on the technology to best support customers
• Always strategizing and proactively sharing insights on improving the company, enhancing our product, and empowering our team to achieve greater success
• Represent the technical vision in pitches and investor conversations

Direct participation in capital raising as a technical executive is a strong plus
