Chinese Language Linguist

Join Lightcast's Linguistics team as a Data Analyst and leverage your Chinese language expertise to enhance language data across our global products. You will analyze and improve data quality, collaborate with engineering teams to build new parsers, translate taxonomies, create crosswalks, and utilize SQL for data management. This role involves data annotation for model training and requires fluency in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. You will play a pivotal role in shaping linguistic features and driving quality standards, making meaningful contributions to cutting-edge technology. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, NLP or similar
• Strong linguistics knowledge
• Fluent competency in Chinese both Simplified & Traditional
• Understanding of syntax and structural analysis of languages
• Microsoft Excel experience (including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions)
• Knowledge of query languages such as SQL
• Knowledge of text analysis or machine learning principles
• Experience with data analysis using tools such as Excel or Python
• Knowledge of RegEx

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve data quality of multilingual text classifiers
• Work with linguistics and engineering teams to build out new parsers across languages
• Translate various taxonomies such as Skills, Titles, and Occupations
• Create crosswalks from origin language titles and skills to Lightcast taxonomies
• Use SQL for data handling and database management
• Annotate data used for model training and validation
