Cinematics Artist

Summary

Join Lakshya Digital, a Keywords Studios company, as a Cinematic Artist for a fully remote 6-month freelance contract (with possible extension) starting June 2025. The role requires proven understanding of film language, storytelling, cinematography, and editing. You will create assets ranging from screenshots to character-driven trailers and collaborate with animators on motion capture shoots. Proficiency in 3D software (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender), timeline editors (Unreal Sequencer or Unity Timeline), and Adobe Creative Suite is essential. The position demands strong communication skills and the ability to work within UK timezone hours. Bonus points for experience in photography, motion graphics, or traditional filmmaking.

Requirements

• Demonstrate a proven understanding of film language, storytelling structure, cinematography, and editing
• Possess a strong eye for scene composition, camera blocking and animation, and lighting
• Become skilled with timeline editors such as Unreal Sequencer or Unity Timeline
• Show strong 3D software proficiency (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender)
• Display familiarity with animation tools including graph editors
• Showcase knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
• Possess strong written English and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Create assets ranging from screenshots to character-driven trailers
• Gain experience in setting up cinematic scenes, including camera layout, VFX, and lighting in engines such as Unreal or Unity
• Work closely with cinematic animators to plan and execute motion capture shoots
• Collaborate with tools programmers and contribute to cinematic tool development

Preferred Qualifications

• Have photography or motion graphics experience
• Possess generalist 3D skills
• Have experience with lighting and post-processing
• Have a background in traditional filmmaking (directing, sound, shoot planning)
• Have experience modding or working directly in game engines
