Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar applicable work experience is required
  • 2+ years of experience in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil3D
  • Experience in the creation of civil land development sheet sets including grading, site drainage, and access road design
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Create site layouts and civil land development design sheet sets in AutoCAD/Civil 3D for utility and commercial-scale renewable energy projects
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes
  • Manage time efficiently across multiple projects
  • Coordinate with clients and project managers on their expectations
  • Work under the guidance of more senior staff
  • Work on or lead small projects or portions of larger projects in preparation of drawings and engineering documentation
  • Attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments
  • Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments
  • Assign tasks to and coordinates work with discipline team members to complete assignments
  • Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements
  • Interacts with clients, customers, subcontractors, and others
  • Receive direction on unconventional and/or complex problems, and possible solutions
  • Receive a thorough review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment
  • Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT Certificate is preferred
  • Water Resources /Hydrology/Hydraulics experience including tools such as HydroCad, FlowMaster, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS for stormwater modeling/calculations is very desirable
  • Knowledge of GIS software tools desirable
  • Prior renewable energy project experience is desirable
