Summary
Join DreamWorks Animation as a Clearance Analyst and contribute to the legal clearance of various projects, from pre-production to release. You will conduct extensive research on trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property matters. Responsibilities include managing rights issues, contacting third-party companies for permissions, and reviewing materials for clearance. This fully remote position requires 2+ years of motion picture and/or television clearance experience and proficiency in various software applications. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Requirements
- Have 2+ years of motion picture and/or television clearance experience
- Be able to handle a fast-paced working environment with quick turnaround requirements and tight production deadlines
- Be highly proficient in Word, Excel, Google Docs and Gmail
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Possess strong research and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Work with the Clearance Team on legal clearance matters for a variety of assigned projects (e.g., film, series, or franchise) from pre-production to release as well as all ancillary clearances, including but not limited to advertising, marketing, and consumer products
- Conduct extensive research on trademarks, copyright, titles, fictitious characters/locations and artwork
- Index, track and keep records of media materials for various projects
- Carefully analyze and keep records of rights issues and acquisitions
- Manage advertising, promotions, marketing and consumer products restrictions for various projects
- Contact third-party companies for rights and permissions requests
- License stills and clips via third-party vendors
- Review and flag lyrics and music cues for our Music Clearance department
- Research, review, and analyze parody and fair use
- Conduct editorial research and analysis for our Franchise and Brand Development teams
- Liaise daily with productions, as well as other departments across the company
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Have a Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience
- Portray a professional demeanor and have strong interpersonal skills, while working closely with various levels of management, including executives
- Have experience with working effectively in a collaborative team environment and be willing to multi-task and cover additional duties as needed
- Portray initiative to identify continuous improvement
