Summary

Join Sutherland as a Client Development Executive (CDE) in the Digital Business Services (DBS) practice. This impactful role centers on securing new clients by selling Sutherland's digital solutions across various corporate functions. As a CDE, you will build relationships, understand client needs, and craft compelling value propositions. You will lead sales engagements from start to finish, exceeding sales targets, and ensuring smooth client transitions. Post-deal, you will support seamless client onboarding and foster long-term partnerships. This role demands a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of success in complex sales environments.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in business development, with a strong record of success in digital/transformation-led sales engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and close $10M+ deals within Fortune 500 enterprises
  • Extensive network of client relationships, including references from senior stakeholders
  • Deep market understanding across AI, automation, analytics, cloud, and other digital enablement technologies
  • Track record of delivering complex, multi-tower deals involving digital transformation, advisory, and managed services
  • Strong commercial acumen and persuasive communication skills, with a “storytelling” mindset that drives engagement and buy-in
  • Highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and relentlessly motivated by growth and impact

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, qualify, and advance strategic sales opportunities—developing a qualified pipeline through proactive networking, prospecting, and social selling
  • Shape and solution complex engagements, working closely with practice leaders and solutioning teams to craft value maximizing opportunities for clients
  • Drive RFP responses, pricing strategies, and negotiations to ensure swift and successful deal closure, accelerating deal velocity and minimizing friction
  • Build trust-based, advisory relationships with C-suite executives and key stakeholders in targeted new logo and existing growth accounts
  • Conduct in-depth discovery to understand client challenges and articulate Sutherland’s ability to deliver measurable client value
  • Champion consultative selling, guiding clients through transformation initiatives and aligning on long-term success
  • Partner closely with service delivery, solutions, capabilities, analytics, digital platforms, and vertical leadership to design and deliver high-impact client solutions
  • Leverage shared insights to co-create transformative business experiences
  • Remain at the forefront of digital, operational, and back-office technology trends. Monitor competitors and industry disruptors to ensure differentiated positioning
  • Translate market intelligence into actionable strategies to support Sutherland’s growth roadmap
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with Company and DBS growth targets
  • Own revenue outcomes with a strong focus on exceeding annual quotas, including consistently generating $3M+ in new business annually
