Summary
Join Valon's Client Services team as a Reporting Data Analyst and contribute to enhancing data-driven reporting. You will design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using various tools, analyze data to identify trends, automate reporting tasks, and work with internal and external teams. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with data management and reporting tools, and a thorough understanding of mortgage servicing concepts. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree
- 5+ years of experience at a mortgage servicer or financial technology company
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project (bonus points if you have experience with creating and refreshing slide decks linked to SQL tables!)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot a wide array of ambiguous problems (client requests rarely repeat!)
- Ability to work with, lead, and consult with all levels in the organization
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain recurring internal and client-facing reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improving servicing operations performance
- Automate routine reporting tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Work closely with internal teams to gather reporting requirements and ensure data solutions align with business and client goals to reflect specific metrics, KPIs
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or reporting issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in cross-functional reporting analyst roles, bonus points if experienced in servicing client support reporting roles
- Thorough understanding of mortgage servicing concepts, including, but not limited to, subservicing contracts, investor guidelines, and the responsibilities associated with MSR ownership
- Advanced experience working with Google Suite, Jira, Looker, SQL
