Requirements

  • Confidence in your own designs, as well as the ability to collaborate with other engineers on systemic issues
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally 2 of which are focused on building and maintaining infrastructure with IaC tools
  • Proven experience as a Terraform cloud engineer
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization
  • Experience managing and securing services on the AWS cloud platform
  • Experience writing reliable code in at least one language (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Experience doing the work associated with SREs, Platform Engineers, Cloud Engineers, or DevOps Engineers

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools—and enhance our ecosystem
  • Collaborate with our senior engineers to maintain the security of our systems and processes
  • Build prototypes, tackle problems with no clear solution, and collaborate with other engineers to make using our stack a better experience
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot production incidents and then improve systems to prevent them from recurring
  • Build CI/CD orchestration (for both the web application and infrastructure)
  • Set up monitoring and alerts for infrastructure (e.g., CPU, memory spikes) and performance (e.g., page load speed), and help engineers with feature-level monitoring
  • Develop ideas, proposals, and proof-of-concepts independently but also work with the software development team to build consensus on the best solutions
  • Help educate engineers through code reviews, talks, and documentation
