Join our team as a Cloud Solution Architect 4 and play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our cloud-based ecosystem. You will design, implement, and maintain technology assets using approved tools for both cloud and on-premises environments. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, designing scalable cloud solutions, developing front-end and back-end services, and ensuring solution completeness through thorough testing. You will also set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, manage configuration drift, and apply DevOps principles. This role requires strong proficiency in cloud platforms, cloud networking and security, containerization, serverless computing, and scripting. Success in this position demands excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as a strong analytical mindset.
Requirements
- Translate business requirements into fully tested solution workflows by designing, implementing, and maintaining technology assets using approved tools for both cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on-premises environments
- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms, leveraging native cloud services for solution engineering
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts (e.g., VPCs, subnets, security groups) and cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM)
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Experience with serverless computing concepts, event-driven architecture, and serverless platforms (e.g., AWS Lambda)
- Ability to write scripts and automate tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js)
- Experience in setting up alerts, dashboards, and logs for cloud infrastructure and applications
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Agency
- Hands on solution development on AWS cloud using Data Engineering Services and integrating with various internal and external applications
- Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs specifically tailored for cloud environments (e.g., AWS API Gateway)
- Experience with Power BI, Snowflake and AWS data Lake integrations or similar
- Automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, version control, and collaboration tools
- Data Ingestion and Transformation using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, AWS DMS, Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, Amazon AppFlow
- Setting up schedulers by using Amazon EventBridge, Apache Airflow, or time-based schedules for jobs and crawlers DynamoDB, Kenesis, RDS etc
- Implementing data transformation services based on requirements using AWS Glue, Lambda etc
- Using orchestration services to build workflows for data ETL pipelines (for example, Lambda, Event Bridge, Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow)
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and applications
- Enable collaboration, automation, and efficiency in the development of cloud-based systems
- Train teams on leveraging cloud technologies
- Develop solutions on AWS cloud and integrate with various internal and external applications
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and convert them into actionable solution components
- Design and develop scalable, resilient cloud solution architectures
- Develop front-end components and back-end services
- Create comprehensive solution documentation
- Set up and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Ensure solution completeness through thorough testing and quality assurance processes
- Manage configuration drift and ensure consistency across different environments
- Apply DevOps principles to streamline the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Deploy solutions to various environments and ensure ongoing operational stability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Cloud Solution Architect and Data Engineer Certifications
- AWS Data Zone Experience
- Advance level of expertise and showcase experience in cloud architecture and software engineering skills (ex: API Development, Algorithm design), Scripting (preferably python/NodeJS), Serverless computing, Containerization and Orchestration, DevOps for pipelines
- Experience building products in a modern cloud ecosystem
- Refined communication and training skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- Ability to interface amicably with business partners showcasing an understanding of the business process that agency supports
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and implement automation solutions
- AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional and at least one AWS Specialty certification
