Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• 2-4 years of experience in commercial contract law, majority of experience in a corporate or in-house legal environment

Responsibilities

• Drafting of Contracts: Prepare, review, and finalize a variety of commercial contracts
• Negotiation of Contracts: Negotiate the commercial terms and conditions with Sezzle’s clients and partners and ensure proper finalization for signatures
• Legal Compliance: Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Contract Management: Maintain and manage the contract database, ensuring that all contracts are up-to-date, properly filed, and easily accessible
• Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks in contract terms and conditions, and propose appropriate mitigation strategies
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that contract terms meet business needs and objectives
• Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving any disputes that may arise from contractual agreements, working closely with external counsel if necessary
• Legal Research: Conduct legal research on issues related to contracts and provide actionable insights to support decision-making
• Training and Development: Provide training to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters, including best practices in contract management and negotiation techniques

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in contract management is a plus
