Summary

Join PayJunction as a Merchant Services-focused Commercial Credit Analyst and review enterprise and larger exposure merchant accounts, ensuring periodic financial statement reviews. Support underwriting for new and existing non-enterprise merchants, using various tools to identify and mitigate potential risks. The role involves producing risk assessment summaries and recommendations, providing customer service, conducting risk assessments to determine financial creditworthiness, performing detailed financial statement analysis, assisting in updating credit policy and procedures, maintaining timely reports, and conducting market analyses. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required โ€“ field of study in accounting, economics or finance preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial credit analysis and underwriting in a banking, fintech or merchant services organization
  • Experience in independently analyzing and approving companies requesting loans, lines, exposure greater than $500,000
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Comfortable generating advanced query functions and pivot tables
  • Experience performing detailed financial analysis on companies including: Ratio and trending analysis
  • Liquidity, Leverage and similar assessments
  • Able to identify concerns/red flags in business activity for repayment and/or processing history
  • Experience with using Salesforce or comparable CRM tool
  • Experience with LexisNexis, Experian, or comparable credit monitoring and compliance tools
  • Ability to absorb and disseminate information in a timely manner
  • Organized and efficient and able to focus on key priorities
  • Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Produce written summaries of risk assessment along with subsequent recommendations for credit approval
  • Provide exceptional customer service, both via phone and email, and conduct timely follow-ups in support of efficient credit management processes
  • Conduct risk assessments to determine financial creditworthiness to support account exposure
  • Perform detailed financial statement analysis on companies, including trend and ratio analysis utilizing financial documents such as the balance sheet and income statement
  • Assisting in updating credit policy and procedures as well as identifying /introducing innovative methods to streamlining risk assessments
  • Maintain timely and accurate reports regarding portfolio status including assurance of completion of annual reviews
  • Conduct company, industry and market analyses to further assess portfolio credit risk
